Metallica Harrison, a mother accused of killing her husband and 3-year-old son at Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, appeared before a judge on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Metallica, 27, of Towanda, a small borough in Pennsylvania’s Bradford County, faces two counts of criminal homicide in the deaths of Charles Harrison and their son.

Harrison appeared virtually on Tuesday and waived the preliminary hearing.

Her formal arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2027, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Husband, son found stabbed to death

Pocono Township police said officers responded to the family’s resort room on Oct. 12 after Metallica called 911 and asked for “help dying.” According to the affidavit of probable cause, she told officers she wanted to be with her husband and son.

Police found Charles and the child stabbed to death on separate mattresses in the room, according to investigators.

Police said they found two knives in the room that matched knives at the family’s home in Towanda, which is in Northeastern Pennsylvania, just south of the New York-Pennsylvania border.

The family had checked into the resort Sept. 21 and extended its stay into October, according to the affidavit.

Statements made to police

During her 911 call from the resort room, Metallica told the dispatcher she needed police and said her husband and son were “already gone,” according to the affidavit. Investigators said she did not request assistance for either of them.

Metallica was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, for treatment. During the ambulance ride, she repeatedly said she was “not supposed to be here,” according to police.

“Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” Metallica said to police, according to the affidavit. “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family.”

Relatives say Metallica was ‘dominant, controlling’

Sister station WGAL reports that, according to a search warrant, Charles’s mother and sister told investigators that Metallica was “dominant” and “controlling” and had isolated Charles and their son from his family.

The relatives also told police they believed Metallica resented her son and that she had said she never wanted to become pregnant, according to the warrant.
