WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) will be holding Mass Casualty and Active Shooter Simulation training at both New Hanover County campuses next week.
CFCC said the public may hear simulated gunfire, see a large police presence and see mock patients during the training.
“The training will include simulated mass casualty incidents, active-shooter scenarios, and medical exercises designed to prepare participants to respond to critical emergencies,” CFCC said. “During the exercise, residents and businesses nearby may hear sounds resembling gunfire. Activities at Union Station will occur inside the building.”
The training exercise is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at CFCC’s Union Station and North Campus.
