Police have identified a seventh gunshot victim several days after a mass shooting just off of the University of Delaware’s campus.

A 17-year-old was found to have suffered a graze wound to his lower left torso during the shooting at Main Street and Choate Street on Halloween night, police said Tuesday. Previously, six people were identified as gunshot victims from the shooting that sent people running for their lives.

The teen had initially left the scene without reporting his injury, but he was located on Monday by law enforcement.

The teen was taken to the hospital and released, police said.

The other six people shot ranged in age from 15 to 21, with the 15-year-old being reported to be in critical condition as of Monday.

No one has yet been charged with opening fire at the scene, but a 16-year-old who was shot in the incident was charged with possession of a firearm by a person under 21, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and breach of release.

Newark police are still asking people with information or photos and videos of the shooting to share it with them to help their investigation. People can submit information here or by contacting Detective Paige Klein at 302-366-7100 ext. 3480 or by email at pklein@newark.de.us.
